Background

The Hong Kong Coaching Committee(HKCC), a joint committee of the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) and the Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI), was established in July 1991 to formulate short-term and long-term strategies for the development of coach education and accreditation programmes in Hong Kong. Currently, 49 National Sports Associations have joined the HKCC as members.

The Coach Education Department, the executive arm of the HKCC, is based at the HKSI since its inception in 1991. The Committee has been the Category A member of the International Council for Coaching Excellence (ICCE) since 1999.

Starting in November 2015, the Jockey Club Coach Education Programme is funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.
