Hong Kong athletes achieved outstanding results on the world stage in 2019, winning over 260 medals from international competitions, namely the National Youth Games, National Games for Persons with Disabilities, World Championships and Asian Championships. These promising results could not be achieved without the tireless support of coaches and the supporting teams.However, due to the pandemic, most of the international competitions and ceremonies were either postponed or cancelled, the 2019 Jockey Club Hong Kong Coaching Awards Presentation Ceremony (2019 CAW), the annual local spectacular to pay tribute to coaches has been rescheduled to this year. 

Organised by the Hong Kong Coaching Committee (HKCC), a joint committee of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China and the Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI), and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the 2019 CAW will be held online for the first time on the HKSI’s social media platforms. 

Awards will be presented in seven categories, including Coach of the Year Awards, Distinguished Services Award for Coaching, Coach Education Award, Best Team Sport Coach Award, Coaching Excellence Awards, Community Coach Recognition Awards and School Coach Recognition Awards, to recognise the effort and contribution of the coaches in 2019.
