International Scientific Symposium - Sport psychology application

It has long been acknowledged that sport psychology is critical for athletes at elite level. Sport psychology can help athletes enhance their learning process and motor skills, cope with competitive pressure and stay focused in the competitive environment, increase their motivation as well as build confidence. Moreover, sport psychology also focuses on the social-cultural aspects of athletes including athletes’ career development and transitions, and cultural diversity. This annual event, organised by the Hong Kong Sports Institute, brings together international experts to share their knowledge and experience in using psychology to support training and rehabilitation, enhance performance, and assist in talent identification and career transition. The Symposium will be held on 6 – 7 November 2011 (Sunday and Monday). Hong Kong Coaching Committee has approved 11.25 hours for renewal as accredited coaches for those attending all sessions of the symposium.  For details and registration, please visit:http://www.hksi.org.hk/iss or contact the Symposium Secretariat at 2681 6130. Deadline for Early-Bird Registration: 15 September 2011.
