The Hong Kong Sports Institute - The Hong Kong Jockey Club Sports Medicine and Health Sciences Centre Exchange Forum on Preparing Athletes for Major Games

The unprecedented achievement of Mainland China in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games has positioned China as one of the world sports powerhouses. To share the successful experiences in preparing athletes for the Beijing Olympics, the Hong Kong Sports Institute is organising an exchange forum, with speakers from the General Administration of Sport of China and four major Mainland sports institutions, to be held on Saturday, 30 May at the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre.

The forum is co-organised by the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, and The Hong Kong Jockey Club Sports Medicine and Health Sciences Centre. Topics will start from the framework of training strategies and sport science and medicine support to athletes for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, and extend the scope of discussion to Hong Kong's experiences in preparing athletes for the upcoming major games, including the 2009 East Asian Games. Keynote presentations will be followed by an open forum to enhance the exchange of expertise and insight in better preparing Hong Kong's elite athletes to succeed on the world stage.

The exchange forum will be conducted in Putonghua (simultaneous interpretation in Cantonese and English provided). For registration, please visit : http://www.hksi.org.hk/issor contact Symposium Secretariat at 2681 6130. Registration deadline: Tuesday, 26 May.
